Human Rights in the Occupied Regions of Georgia
Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region (“South Ossetia”)
Jus Humanis would like to invite you to a new Country Lecture held by our member Keti!
Today, 20% of the Georgian territory (two regions) is occupied by Russian forces. The regions have declared independence, but they remain under de-facto Russian control. All attempts to return up to 200 000 IDPs after the war proved unsuccessful.
What was the history behind the conflict? How are the people living in these regions today? What are the acute human rights problems?
The lecture will try to answer these questions. After the lecture there will be time for the discussion.
Fika will be provided.
